Hypertrophy can occur on any of the hearts muscle portions. Hypertrophy is overgrowth of muscle. Under normal circumstances like exercise, the heart increases in size to meet the cardiac demands placed upon it. However, because of disease and other problems, the ventricles or other portions of the heart can bulk up.
What do we look for on an ECG to indicate that a patient has ventricular hypertrophy? In this module you will find out.
